Tamney Jones is the Operations Director at I AM a Golfer Foundation and Cedar Crest Golf Course, responsible for managing all aspects of the business. Born and raised in Oak Cliff, she is a proud Southern Dallas native, and as a product of Dallas Independent School District (DISD), this city has ignited her passion for business, youth, and her community.
Tamney has been with Cedar Crest Golf Course for over ten years. In 2012, she started as the Event Coordinator, managing over 600 events in her time at Cedar Crest. In 2014, she was promoted to Executive Assistant. In this position, she gained a host of knowledge under the Director and Head Golf Professional that springboarded her career at Cedar Crest and in the golf industry.
Tamney is responsible for managing a team of 30+ team members, drafting budgets and financial reports, developing sales and marketing strategies, developing youth program objectives and strategies, and managing key tournaments and events.
Her engagement with various aspects of golf and business has given her an opportunity to connect with, guide, and inspire hundreds of young people to develop their skills through programs, internships, and more.
With a drive to make a positive impact in the community and a passion to bridge the gap and create new opportunities, Tamney sees what the game of golf can make possible and strives to help make Dallas shine.
