Our IAMGF Intern and Golf Program participant, Jelani R., was awarded the NTPGA Fairway to Success Scholarship this morning at David W. Carter High School where he is a Senior.
Established in 2007, the Fairway to Success Program annually awards scholarships to deserving students based on academic performance, extracurricular activities, community involvement, and financial need. Each year at least one outstanding and deserving senior at each high school is awarded a four-year, $20,000 scholarship. In addition, one student is awarded a "last dollar" full scholarship to their partner school, the University of North Texas at Dallas.
Jelani will be a 2022 High School graduate and will be attending Sam Houston University in the Fall of 2022. Jelani will be pursuing a degree in Business Administration and will be a part of the PGM Program. His dream is to become a PGA member and own/operate multiple Golf courses while still being able to play Golf. During his time at Carter, he was part of the Chess Club during his Freshman and Sophomore year. If he is not at school or on the Golf course, he spends his time with family, working out, and eating out.
