Join our I AM an Intern Program at Cedar Crest Golf Course in Dallas, TX! Our program provides paid internships to local high school and college students and an opportunity to gain real-world work experience while pursuing their education. Our intern program focuses on developing core competencies for any career path our young interns decide to take. Our interns are assigned tasks and projects that test their skill development process.

Our program is perfect for youth and young adults interested in developing a career in Business (General Business Management, Marketing, or Accounting), Golf Course Management, Sports Management, Retail and/or Merchandising, or Event Management. However, regardless of an intern's career aspirations, the I AM a Golfer Internship Program is open to anyone ages 16 to 24 looking to gain work experience and develop skills necessary to succeed in any career field.

Golf Operations Intern

Golf Operations Intern

Job Overview: ○ Assist with pro shop services which include; assisting with the reservation and cancellation of tee times, refreshing merchandise on pro shop floor and displaying inventory, checking in customers for tee times and assisting with merchandise sales.

○ Assist with tournament services which include; cart staging, printing of scorecards, rule sheets, and cart placards, banquet room setup and break down, setup and breakdown of TVs and speakers as needed, course setup and breakdown, and scorekeeping.

○ Assist with outside services which include; setting up and breaking down driving range, picking and refilling range balls, cart cleaning and staging, starting players off the first hole, resetting the practice area by collecting range buckets, and picking golf balls off the chipping and putting green.

Term of Internship: Full Season: March 1 - November 17 and/or Summer: June 3rd - August 2nd

Compensation: $9/hour along with staff apparel and uniforms.



Community Development

Community Development

Job Overview: ○ Assist with special projects and miscellaneous office tasks as required. Including but not limited to helping with data entry, creation of registration forms, creation and printing of flyers.

○ Assist with program set up, registration, delivery, and breakdown ○ Assist with supplemental programming, i.e, PGA Junior League, field trips, family events, one-off community events, in-school and afterschool programs.

○ Assist with record tracking, i.e, participant information, attendance records, program evaluations

○ Provide support with any special projects

○ Assist with communication among participants, parents, and volunteers ○ Provide support for event planning and management

○ Be involved in internal I AM A Golfer Foundation meetings and take minutes

○ Assist in capturing content for website and social media

○ Brainstorm ideas for internship field trips, and junior program field trips

Term of Internship: - Full Season: March 1 - November 17

- Summer: June 3rd - August 2nd

Compensation: $11/hour along with staff apparel and uniforms

Marketing/Communications

Marketing/Communications

Job Overview: ○ Assist in organizing promotional events and tournaments

○ Perform research into potential clients, collaborators, and competitors ○ Assist with drafting department spreadsheets and databases ○ Support Manager of Marketing & Communications

○ Include support for event planning and management

○ Assist with identifying, designing, writing, editing and/or coordinating company presentations

○ Assist marketing team with meeting coordination and team communications

○ Be actively involved with external and internal meetings and communication through content creation and administrative management support

○ Update and maintain Cedar Crest Golf Course social media presence on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

○ Assist with designing flyers, graphics, evites, and other marketing material for Cedar Crest Golf Course

○ Assist in planning, writing, and managing monthly eNewsletters ○ Manage social media posts schedules

○ Attend development team meetings

Term of Internship: - Full Season: March 1 - November 17

- Summer: June 3rd - August 2nd

Compensation: $12/hour along with staff apparel and uniforms.

Hospitality

Hospitality

Job Overview: ○ Complete TABC License

○ Provide direct service to guests as needed, including, but not limited to, serving tables, bussing tables, and general cashier duties.

○ Perform any general cleaning tasks to ensure the cleanliness of Legend’s Grill

○ Create sales on the golf course via Beverage Cart

○ Assist with events and tournaments that include Food and Beverage services

○ Prepare the banquet room with tables, chairs, and linens for events and tournaments

Term of Internship: Summer: June 3rd - August 2nd

Compensation: $9/hour along with staff apparel and uniforms.

Foundation Operations

Foundation Operations

Job Overview: ○ Focus Areas: IAMGF administration, operations, innovation/training, and sponsorship coordination.

○ Responsibilities: Provide administrative support, work closely with Executive Director and Marketing Manager, and assist with setup and breakdown of special events like the Dallas Amateur Championship.

○ Succes for this intern includes: Securing sponsors, management of other interns, providing training for other interns, and assisting with program operations.

Term of Internship: Summer: June 3rd - August 2nd

Compensation: $12/hour along with staff apparel and uniforms.

Dallas Amateur Championship (DAC) Social Media Marketing

Dallas Amateur Championship (DAC) Social Media Marketing

Job Overview: ○ Dallas Amateur Championship (DAC) digital marketing, operations, and sponsorship coordination.

○ Responsibilities Include: Create and manage marketing and media plan for DAC, Amplify engagement and media efforts, Develop and promote player and sponsor stories for social and web.

○ ther tasks include: Assisting with setup and breakdown of special events.

Term of Internship: Summer: June 3rd - August 2nd

Compensation: $12/hour along with staff apparel and uniforms.

Foundation Social Media Marketing

Foundation Social Media Marketing

Job Overview: ○ Focus Areas: Digital marketing and operations support.

○ Responsibilities: Assist with operations, foundation events, and junior clinics. Create and manage marketing and media plan for I AM a Golfer Foundation (IAMGF), Amplify engagement and media efforts, Develop and promote intern and junior program participants stories for social and web. ○ Other tasks include: Assisting with setup and breakdown of special events like the Dallas Amateur Championship (DAC)

Term of Internship: Summer: June 3rd - August 2nd

Compensation: $12/hour along with staff apparel and uniforms.
