At I AM a Golfer Foundation, one of the greatest measures of impact is seeing students grow through the game, excel academically, and step into meaningful professional opportunities. Today, we are proud to celebrate Kris Thomas as he begins his internship with the Northern Texas PGA Foundation, a valued program partner and a full-circle moment in his journey.
Kris’s story began at David W. Carter High School, where he competed on the golf team and graduated #1 in the Class of 2025. Through his participation in the NTPGA Fairway to Success Program, he received mentorship, academic support, and scholarship guidance that helped prepare him for college and beyond.
His dedication earned him a full-ride scholarship to Texas Christian University, where he is majoring in Finance with a minor in Real Estate.
Now, Kris is gaining hands-on experience through the NTPGA internship program, which provides exposure to tournament operations, nonprofit leadership, and community programming. The opportunity is especially meaningful because he is now contributing to the same organization that once invested in him as a student.
Our partnership with the Northern Texas PGA supports scholarship recipients at Carter High School and Lincoln High School who participate in Fairway to Success, ensuring access to scholarships, mentorship, career readiness programming, and paid internships.
Kris represents what is possible when preparation meets opportunity and when strong community partnerships create clear pathways from high school to college to career.
We are proud of his continued growth and grateful for partners like the Northern Texas PGA who help make stories like his possible.
