I AM a Golfer Foundation honors our military forces by building comradery and physical endurance through the game of golf.
The Department of Veterans Affairs research and clinical experience verify that physical activity is important to maintaining good health, speeding recovery and improving the overall quality of life. For many injured Veterans, adaptive sports provide their first exposure to physical activity after injury. It is a fact that suicide is a major issue among military Veterans, with recent statistical studies showing that 22 Veterans a day commit suicide. PGA HOPE is working to change this statistic.
Through the Northern Texas PGA H.O.P.E. program, we have had the opportunity to work with many Veterans in our community. The PGA H.O.P.E. is the flagship military program of PGA REACH, the charitable foundation of the PGA of America. PGA H.O.P.E. introduces golf to all Veterans in order to enhance their mental, social, physical, and emotional well-being. Click here to register and read more about the PGA H.O.P.E. program.
